Brooklyn Comprehensive Plan (2023)
New York City is infamous for lacking a comprehensive plan. Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso undertook and released the first-ever Comprehensive Plan for Brooklyn (2023) to provide a baseline for policy goals and recommendations at every level of government, as well as community-based groups. Existing conditions data and maps were created with the most up-to-date data at the time of publication.
Cooling Centers
New York City opens cooling centers when the National Weather Service issues a heat advisory with a forecasted heat index of:
- 95 degrees or higher for two or more days, or;
- 100 degrees for any period of time.

Report a Pothole in NYC
A pothole is a hole in the street with a circular or ovular shape and a definable bottom. To be ‘actionable’ the pothole should be at least one foot in diameter and three inches deep. Typically, a DOT inspector will check the pothole. If actionable, DOT will repair it. Report a pothole online
