Human Services and Environmental Sustainability
The Human Services and Environmental Sustainability Committee addresses diverse community needs and environmental concerns within the district.
It is dedicated to delivering essential youth, library, educational, and public health programs and services while also reviewing and recommending funding for various youth and community development initiatives. The committee facilitates dialogue among service providers and community-based organizations to foster information exchange and community engagement. The committee focuses on enhancing social and healthcare services for our district’s general, youth, senior, NYCHA, and special needs populations.
In tandem with these efforts, the committee addresses the intersecting environmental issues critical to quality of life and sustainability. This encompasses environmental quality control measures like urban heat island effects, air quality, stormwater management, solid waste and water quality management, and alternative energy systems.
